Every now and then my laptop´s disc gets full of files and usually I notice this when Lightroom application points out that ” the disc space is running critically low, free atleast 20mb” and then gets jammed.
To solve this acute problem, I try to find something to delete. Applications, e-mails, rss posts, podcasts, files. I usually run utility checks first to get rid of invisible stuff wasting space. I have two external drives also, but I don´t backup everything and try to judge the importance of files before throwing everything there.
Even after these, there isn´t much space free and the same situation is looming in the near future.
But fortunately I have one more trick in my sleeve: Disc Inventory X. This clever application scans my drive and creates a graphic image out of it. After that I can skim that image and click those cubes to see what they are. Neat and beautiful!
Total: 6,12 Gb free space! It´s not much but I´ll get by…
