I visited the botanical garden as I usually do in the beginning of autumn. Here´s another post about my visits.

This is still my favourite flower, it belongs to Allium family.
R is heading to rose garden. We missed the blooming roses but the scent was still there.
And Magnolia seems to be doing well.
Here we have a small batch of lavender. I have been trying to catch lavender fields in France but I have always been too late. How amazing would it be to see this?
I am happy to see this Gingko back. It was missing about a year or it was moved to some secluded place I didn´t catch.

You know this plant is called “Maiden´s hair tree” in Finnish.
I like being organized.

Therefore this kind of display is interesting to me. But I do see the irony in categorical things.
Love the forsty tones! So odd!
No idea what flower this is. Tips, please.

In Finland this traditional perennial is called ” The burning love”. I planted two of these in front of our stairway this summer.
I guess after this trip I am almost ready to take the cold and the dark. But luckily it looks we are going to have a warm autumn.

I started to go through my instagram photos and realized that there where plenty of moments my other camera´s missed. It´s actually amazing what kind of little every day moments that  free app helps to remember.

As I mentioned previously my friend asked me to photograph her dog´s puppies before they left her home. I accepted this task with pleasure because I had never taken pictures of puppies before. It took five rolls.

The developing tank takes up to 2 films so it takes a little bit time to develop, fix and rinse them at home.

I use staining developer (pyrocatechol) and it comes out of the tank surprisingly purple.

And it also leaves a purplish tint on the black and white film. But it makes no difference in printing or scanning.

To somebody like me, developing film is alchemy and magic. I understand the basic explanation of physical reactions involved but somehow I can´t seem to grasp how a developer can bring out something that happened days, months or even years ago.

My friends have lovely dog companions. In fact in my circle of friends dogs dominate (versus cats). I wonder why it is so. Here´s Tinka, she´s a miniature pinscher. She´s very clever and loves agility. But she can be a little tricky because she´s not into guests. She is a peculiar mixture nonchalance and action. I took these pictures a little year ago I think. They were shot on film which I don´t do that much nowadays because I can´t seem to find time to develop them.

I think this colour is one the most beautiful and striking things here in autumn. I think it´s called amaranth, or perhaps it´s vermilion or crimson. I wonder if there´s a book about colours that could teach me what hue are we talking about here. Any suggestions?

When I bought a new phone last Christmas for myself I started snapping pictures with it. At first it seemed awkward because I am used to heavy cameras with lots of functions but I quite quickly got used to pointing with it and letting camera do it´s task. A couple of months ago I downloaded the Instagram application for my phone and now use it pretty much exclusively. I like the dreamy shades it produces which I otherwise wouldn´t dare to use in my photos. Here´s a first part of new series of images taken during my everyday life and in the moments I don´t necessarily blog about.
