topHere´s a pouch or a clutch I made from my Poppana experiment sample. It measures about 19x29cm so it´s quite large. I wove twill on the sides and plain weave for the bottom. Quick and nice project. I´d love to do more these, perhaps for gifts.

One thing though: zipper. They´re really hard to come by in my corner of the world. I couldn´t find the right kind but I am on the lookout for better looking ones.

off the loomHere´s the Poppana experiment off the loom. My favourites: the gray/peachy and the red/white. Approximately 32cm wide and five pieces.
peachyThe weave is a rosepath and two extra treadles for plain weave. Love this combination and will use it again.
redI wish I had more colours to play with. This time it was only scarlet red, middlegray, peachy orange and off-white.

breakfastI bought this excellent book about weavers of Bauhaus. Unfortunately it´s in German but the pictures are gorgeous. I´d love too see these weavings with my own eyes but so far never happened to catch a Bauhaus exhibition.
yellowsI think I posted almost the same picture a few weeks ago. Only the vase and the flowers were different. From my craft room/living room. I call this my living room because we have another room -almost identical in size- that serves as R´s study and our living room.
wool sampleA small sample with wool yarns. I am planning to weave wool rugs but can´t make up my mind whether to go for thick warp and thin wool weft or thin warp with chunky wool for weft. Hmm..
socksA friend of mine asked me to knit him a pair of socks and of course I did. I went for the darkest gray because I hate to knit black yarn because the pattern doesn´t really show and it kills the eyes. They were a good fit I think.
lightFinally there´s light. And the best part: I have six days off from work.

Happy Easter!

ballsNowadays there´s multiple projects around the house at some point in process. I used to have only one and could not leave it before the problem/work was solved. I don´t know when I have become promiscuous but it´s much more enjoyable just to leave the work behind if it´s not going anywhere. After a while it looks different and is solved more easily. Here´s weft skeins for a future rug. Too perfect steel gray to use right now.
mirrorI keep on dreaming of an organized work space but leave piles of stuff behind. I can´t remember when I had the perfect order I think I have lost and keep referring to. Usually in my pictures I tend to dodge this though but you can see it in the mirror.
sketchbookHere´s new rug sketches I have been drawing here and there. After a steady row of three ziz-zag 2/2 twill warps I ought to try out something different so these sketches will have to wait.

I have been planning a new project to weave. It will be a some kind of table runner made of linen yarn. But before that I will make a warp for my loom for rugs. But it´s good to have plans right?
This used to be one of my craft spots around the house but at the moment I don´t have one because we are renovating that room. These days I miss my desks the most.
My mother gave an Azalea. She´s a florist so I get flowers from her that are somehow of defected but too beautiful to toss away. It´s good that she´s very picky with what to sell.
I bought a lot of new weft for upcoming rug projects from the craft fair.
Here´s mittens gift-wrapped for a dear friend of mine.
New sock yarn. I am almost done with one pair because knitting variegated yarn is so addictive.
The Itten Rug is about to have an almost identical twin. I had a feeling I have to remake the whole thing because there were minor things that I thought could be done in another way. The new one is thicker about 20% and the colours are more identical with the original Itten colour wheel.

I have started to knit new pairs of mittens after the busiest spring ever. But I need to take it slow because of my injured shoulder even though knitting itself for me is about healing and finding balance.

I finally got around to hang my pictures. The reason was Inpependence Day party at my place. I wish I had done it earlier because my small apartment looks a lot nicer now. Here´s before and after.

This blog will be mainly in english (although my native language is Finnish) just because I have become acquainted with certain things in English and they might be easier to express and share. Please bare my imperfections with this choice.
